Our Story
The Story of El Güero Canelo
El Güero Canelo has been a part of the Tucson, Arizona community since October 20, 1993, when founder Daniel Contreras started selling carne asada from a humble stand. The Sonoran hot dog came after, because people kept asking for it.
What began as a small local business has grown into a Tucson destination for authentic Sonoran Mexican food, with three restaurant locations and a local meat market.
Thirty-some years, one standard.
